Personal Bio
Dr Stephen Mounsey graduated with distinction from King’s College London in 2010, after completing a first-class degree in Pharmacy at Cardiff University. Following medical school, Dr Mounsey completed his specialist dermatology training at the renowned St. John’s Institute of Dermatology, the national centre for dermatology in the UK, gaining comprehensive expertise in a wide range of dermatological conditions.
Dr Mounsey currently works as a Consultant Dermatologist, consulting on all aspects of general dermatology and skin cancer. He has a specialist interest in eczema, psoriasis, and the treatment of these conditions, as well as in male genital dermatology. Dr Mounsey runs an NHS clinic dedicated to the management of male genital dermatology.
In addition, Dr Mounsey serves as the Training Programme Director for South London, where he is responsible for the education and training of dermatology registrars. Locally, Dr Mounsey also oversees the training of medical students in dermatology, ensuring the next generation of healthcare professionals receives high-quality, hands-on experience.
A passionate advocate for clinical research, Dr Mounsey has been an investigator on numerous trials, contributing to advancements in the field.
His research interests focus on eczema, psoriasis, and male genital dermatology, areas in which he has published extensively and presented internationally. Additionally, Dr. Mounsey sits on advisory boards for both eczema and psoriasis, helping to shape the direction of future treatments and clinical practices.
Dr Mounsey is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and continues to be deeply involved in advancing the field of dermatology through both clinical practice and academic contributions.
